Tim Tobin Named CEO of Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center
Tim has the ideal qualifications to excel as Spotsylvania Regional Medical Centers first CEO, said Margaret Lewis, President of HCAs Reston-based Capital Division. He is a proven leader and motivator who is not only skilled at hospital operations, but also committed to being a positive and productive force in the community. Tobin, 47, will continue to serve in his current role until May 30, 2008. We are very committed to Alleghany Regional Hospital, and a search for Tims replacement will begin immediately, said Lewis. I am very excited and highly honored to be selected to lead the construction, development and operation of Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center. To say this is a once in a lifetime opportunity would be an enormous understatement. said Tobin. At the same time, it will be difficult for me to leave this wonderful community and the many friends that I have made over the past three years. During Tobins leadership, Alleghany Regional Hospital has achieved several national recognitions and benchmarks in the areas of patient outcomes, quality, and safety initiatives. The hospital now consistently ranks in the top 10 percent of all U.S. hospitals in the diagnosis and treatment of heart attacks, pneumonia, surgical infection prevention, and heart failure. It is also the only rural hospital in Virginia designated as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. In addition to patient-care achievements, the hospital ranks in the top 25 and 30 percent in physician and employee satisfaction, respectively, in the entire company (HCA) that includes over 180 hospitals and 90 outpatient centers nationwide. Tobin, though, is very quick to credit staff and physicians for the hospitals success. I consider myself as the conduit of enabling our employees and reducing barriers. Other than that, the staff and physicians are responsible for these achievements through their hard work, tenacity, and commitment to provide only the best healthcare to our patients. Alleghany Regional has also experienced excellent growth under Tobins leadership, with 2007 being one of the hospitals most successful years. We continue to recruit new physicians to practice in our community and hospital which is vital to meeting the current and future healthcare needs of the Alleghany Highlands, says Tobin. We are expecting up to five new physicians to relocate to our community in the next six months. Once new physicians move to our family-oriented community and experience the beautiful mountains, outdoor leisure activities, theyre telling their colleagues about our hidden treasure. |
